Perry agrees to help while Norman recovers from injuries suffered at the hands of the bandits. Lois and Clark join Perry on a trip to the west. Superman chips in to rebuild the printing press to get the newspaper back up and running.

Perry then issues a plea for tips about the rustlers. Letters fill the office. Clark uses his x-ray vision to scan the letters for promising clues. He finds three which are then divided up for further investigation. Lois and Perry each need Superman's help to follow-up on their clues. Clark's clue leads to blacksmith Paul Strong, the leader of the bandits. Clark plants a suggestion with Strong which causes the rustler to expose himself and leads to his capture.
