Comments:
Beginning in this issue the Blackhawks are established as mercenaries. Blackhawk now runs Cunningham Aircraft which serves as a sideline business.

Synopsis:
When the plans and prototype for an anti-missile system are stolen, the government contracts the Blackhawks to retrieve them. The team, now turned mercenary, accepts the assignment and tracks the plans to a pyramid in the Sahara constructed by a man calling himself the Collector. The Blackhawks assault the pyramid and retrieve the plans, but the prototype was stolen by another party.

The Blackhawks then return to their normal lives. Hendrickson is the only one who is not currently working elsewhere, so he goes to Blackhawk Island where the female mercenary Ramona Fatale awaits him. She explains that Anton Vibrax attacked and took over her own island and enlists the Blackhawks to take it back.

The Blackhawks regroup an attack the island. Blackhawk and Fatale make it past the outer defenses. While Fatale takes the command center, Blackhawk pursues Vibrax. When the villain tries to kill him, Blackhawk strikes back. Vibrax is killed.

With the island recaptured, the Blackhawks work is done. However, Blackhawk realizes that Fatale has the stolen anti-missile system protoype. He takes it from her, intending to return it to the government for a reward.
