Synopsis:
A rash of strange deaths are attributed to the Spectre. Jim Corrigan investigates the murders in which men are turned to gold. Several attempts are made on Corrigan's life by the gang responsible. Corrigan evades the traps, but is unable to track down the man responsible.

Under orders from his boss to bring in the Spectre, Corrigan brings his other persona to the police station. His boss accuses the Spectre of the crimes, but the Ghostly Guardian leaves the station. Spectre then rescues Clarice Winston from a man impersonating him. The man, Gustaf Gilroy, turns himself to gold using the formula he invented to avoid incarceration.
