History:
Bored with his life of perpetual leisure, millionaire playboy Rod Reilly created the masked identity of the Firebrand so he could experience the thrills and adventure that had been so sorely lacking in his life. His secret known only to his best friend and man-friday "Slugger" Dunn, the ex-heavyweight boxer who helped train Reilly for his new role, the Firebrand took on a vicious crime syndicate that had virtually taken over the city, only to find himself mistakenly accused of being the syndicate's leader.

Though wanted by both the police and the mob, Firebrand continued to fight crime until the early days of World War Two, when he and "Slugger" enlisted in the Navy. Critically wounded during the Japanese sneak attack on the American base at Pearl Harbor, Rod lay bedridden for many months while his sister, Danette, assumed the identity of Firebrand making use of the fiery super-powers she had accidentally gained just weeks before.

Ultimately recovering from his wounds, Rod once more assumed the guise of Firebrand, traveling to the parallel planet called Earth-X in an as-yet-undisclosed manner. There he battled the Nazi menace in his own way for the next several decades, until the Third Reich was finally defeated by Earth-X's Freedom Fighters with the combined aid of the Justice League and the Justice Society.

When the Freedom Fighters left Earth-X behind in search of adventure, Firebrand followed them, and eventually joined their ranks.

Powers:
An Olympic-level athlete and superb hand-to-hand combatant, Firebrand possesses no true super-powers, but he was personally trained by ex-heavyweight boxer "Slugger" Dunn to the height of physical perfection.
