History:
When he was a young man, Jason Bard vowed to find his father, the man who murdered his beloved mother. This, however, was a more difficult task than it seemed. His father had abandoned them when Jason was a child, and his mother had destroyed all photos of her husband, so Jason had no memory of his father's face.
After joining the Marines, Bard was sent to Vietnam, where he was mustered out when his right knee was crippled. He then attended college on the G.I. bill, majoring in Criminology, and opened an office in Gotham City, where he has established a reputation as an intelligent, ethical private investigator. Occassionally, his services have even been used by the Batman. During this time he has made the professional acquaintance of Police Commissioner James Gordon, and the personal acquaintance of Gordon's daughter, Barbara.
Powers:
Often, his dependence on his cane has caused opponents to underestimate Bard's physical prowess, but Bard's combat experience makes him an above-average hand-to-hand fighter, and he is not above using his cane as a weapon. Bard is an average pistol shot and has a permit to carry firearms.
