Synopsis:
Young doctor, Gordon Doolin, is trying to raise money for a South Seas hospital to research tropical diseases. He learns that he is an heir to the Heath fortune. His father had changed their family name to avoid a curse placed on the family 300 years ago.

In accordance with the terms of the estate of the late Ebenezer Heath, Gordon changes his name to Heath and returns to the family manor with the estate trustee, Jean Loring. On the way, the curse appears to take effect, as Gordon’s car crashes into a river. Ray Palmer, secretly the Atom, is forced to rescue Gordon. Ray agrees to accompany Jean, his girlfriend, and Gordon to the estate.

Two more attempts are made on Gordon’s life, each one is thwarted by the Atom who suspects one of the estate servants is responsible. When he uncovers a fourth trap laid for Gordon, Ray uses it to flush out the real assassin, the caretaker Bates. Bates attempts to escape, but Ray overcomes him as the Atom.
