Synopsis:
Superman is exposed to a composite form of Red, Green, and Gold Kryptonite. The result is the permanent loss of his super powers along with his memory of being Superman. He assumes his Clark Kent identity and wonders, along with the rest of the world where Superman has disappeared to. After a long period, Lois consents to marry Clark, fearing that Superman will never return.

After their marriage, Clark investigates a possible Superman sighting in Tibet. The sighting turns out to be false, but a flood leaves Clark stranded for five years. When he finally returns to Metropolis, he learns that Lois has had his child. Clark, Jr. possesses super powers, but Lois believes they originated from a space jewel, not genetics.

Young Clark soon grows into a Superboy. Clark trains his son to use his powers, though he still has no knowledge of his own past. Finally, the accidental triggering of a Superman robot helps Clark to regain his memory. Though he still lacks powers, Clark is shocked to discover that he was the Man of Steel.
