This story is continued from Wonder Woman #34.

Synopsis:
While Wonder Woman battles Shim'Tar inside the city of Bana-Mighdall, General Masat orders the city destroyed. Bombers begin the attack. The Amazons fight back, but they are being wiped out. Diana tries to stop the bombers, but Faruka and Shim'Tar denounce her. Finally Hermes is able to erect a barrier to protect the city from the planes above.

The Amazons finally see that they were duped by Faruka. They turn against her. Hermes and Diana are then able to defeat Shim'Tar uses Wonder Woman's lasso and the caduceus. However, it is too late to save the city which is destroyed by an explosion. Only Wonder Woman, Hermes, and Barbara Minerva leave the city alive.

Wonder Woman returns to Boston, then heads to Themyscira to deliver the lost girdle of Gaea to her mother.
