Synopsis:
Batman tangles with a hooded villain who calls himself Bonecrusher. The killer has sonic weapons that can literally shake matter apart. After Batman disables the sonic weapons, Bonecrusher throws himself off a roof to his own death.

At Waynetech, Jeannie Bowen comes to the offices in search of her lost brother Roy Kane. Mitchell Riordan denies that Kane worked for Waynetech. Julie contacts a private detective who puts her in touch with Bruce. He questions employees and learns that Roy did work for the company, but disappeared six months earlier.

Batman then has another encounter with Bonecrusher. Once again the villain kills himself rather than risk capture. At the same time, a homeless man is arrested having exhibited the same behavior as the killer. The homeless man is Roy Kane.

Bruce takes Kane out of police custody and reunites the amnesiac with his sister. He also learns of a secret project within Waynetech to develop remote controlled soldiers. Another Bonecrusher tries to silence Bruce, but Alfred shoots him with a tranquilizer.

Bruce learns that Dr. Harbinger was controlling the host Bonecrusher bodies. However, the scientist evades capture by transferring his consciousness to one of the hosts. Harbinger's partner Riordan then tries to blackmail Bruce into silence. When Bruce refuses, Riordan has Bruce arrested as a communist spy.
