Synopsis:
Swamp Thing has been transported back in time to a pre-historic age where he encounters a dinosaur. He fights the dinosaur for his life. Suddenly a barbarian appears to help fight the dinosaur. The man is an anachronism. He dies before Swamp Thing can find out more about him. However, while dying his eyes glow like the jewel that transported Swamp Thing into the past. Swamp Thing then disappears.

Swamp Thing then finds himself in the Roman Colesiuem. He is forced to fight and encounters a gladiator with the same jeweled eyes who dies. Swamp Thing disappears again. Next he finds himself in the Dark Ages. A mob, believing him to carry the plague, chases him. Swamp Thing again encounters the man with the jeweled eyes, now named Milo Mobius. Milo has attempted to use the jewel to gain immortality, but he is cursed to die again and again. When Milo dies in this time period, Swamp Thing is once again sent forward in time.

After another encounter with the jewel during the Civil War, Swamp Thing returns to his own time period. He meets the man who begs to be killed by the muck monster to break the curse. Swamp Thing refuses. The man then dies in a quicksand bog and disappears. Swamp Thing hides the jewel. He believes the man will return for it someday.
