Synopsis:
Wes Dodds saves the life of Lois Mansfield. The woman explains that she and other members of her family have been driven insane because they constantly hear the sound of bells. When Lois's sister Martha kills herself, the Sandman begins to suspect her bodyguard Frank Scata. However, further investigation leads him to Ernest Mansfield, the girls' brother. He was cut out of the family estate, so he drove the girls insane by planting a device in their hats that made the bell sounds. With the girls dead he could collect the family fortune. However, the Sandman exposes his scheme and saves Lois again.
