Synopsis:
Wes Dodds and Sandy attend a performance of Magno the Mystic, an escape artist. They recognize several of Magno's helpers as felons. While Magno is buried underground, a nearby bank is robbed. The Sandman suspects Magno, but the mystic has an airtight alibi, having been buried.

At Magno's next performance, he does a water escape. The Sandman is waiting when one of Magno's henchmen secretly releases him in order to raid a yacht. The Sandman is captured while trying to stop the crooks and trapped aboard a flooding submarine.

The Sandman and Sandy escape the submarine, then race to the Van Nestor party where Magno is holding his next performance. The mystic begins robbing the wealthy party guests, but when the Sandman arrives, he and his henchmen are apprehended.
