Synopsis:
The Sandman follows a group of crooks back to their leader, the Curio Man. The boss is angry at his men and a fight ensues. When the Sandman is shot, the crooks flee the scene, but not before Sandy recovers an antique hourglass. Sandy then rushes his partner to the hospital.

The Sandman undergoes surgery to save his life. While unconscious he dreams about the Revolutionary War. In the dream he saves the life of a young soldier and recovers an hourglass with the lost formula for Greek Fire engraved upon it.

When the Sandman awakens from surgery, he begins to examine the hourglass Sandy recovered. Before he can finish the crooks enter his room and try to take back the hourglass. During the ensuing fight, the hourglass is broken, and the formula is lost forever. The gang is caught, and their plans to sell the formula to a foreign power are thwarted.
