Synopsis:
Adam Strange returns to Rann where Sardath uses Null-Zeta radiation to allow Adam to stay for up to a year. However, the radiation has an unforeseen side-effect. Adam is advanced on the evolutionary scale, gaining superior mental capabilities.

The new Adam is incredibly intelligent, but Alanna finds him to be cold. When Adam leaves to defeat a menace known as the sky frequencies, she removes the Null-Zeta radiation from Adam’s body. Adam reverts to normal, learns that the sky frequencies were created by his brain waves, and defeats the menace completely by deactivating a computer containing the knowledge his superior intellect obtained. The Null-Zeta experiment is deemed a failure, and Adam returns to Earth with a strange rock affected by the sky frequencies.
