Synopsis:
Green Lantern is returning to the Ferris Aircraft Company from a mission. He is surprised when he arrives much sooner than expected, as if he reaches his destination fifty miles too soon. Upon his arrival, something seems wrong. He sees Carol Ferris in her office writing with her left hand, and he also thinks he spots Hal Jordan. GL dismisses his feeling and goes to charge his ring. As soon as he begins, everything vanishes like a mirage. He flys onward to the real Ferris Co., where he finds his power battery stolen.

Atop a boarding house not far away, GL’s friend Pieface is adjusting the aerial antenna on the roof. The aerial picks up the transmission of two Qwardian spies, Chomin and Drik. It is revealed that they created the phony hangar to discover the location of Green Lantern’s power battery. They manage to find and steal the invisible battery, but a shield prevents them from touching it. Pieface, having learned this, races off to warn GL.

Fearing the battery could be damaged during a direct confrontation, Green Lantern, as Hal Jordan, uses the room next to the thieves to spy on them. He witnesses the Qwardians send the battery through the barrier into the Qward universe. GL pursues his stolen lamp through the barrier.

Green Lantern is attacked by yellow Qwardian tanks upon his arrival. The Weaponers plan on delaying him long enough that his 24 hour charge expires. His power battery is encased in a yellow dome to prevent GL from charging it. He finds a tiny hole in the dome, which allows him to break through from the inside. Quickly GL tries to charge his ring, but he finds that it won’t work in the Qward universe.

Racing back to the barrier, GL is fired upon by the Weaponers. However, they are actually shooting an energy duplicate created by Green Lantern, while the real one escapes invisibly. Once back into his own universe, Green Lantern recharges his ring, captures the spies, and returns with Pieface to the Ferris plant.
