Synopsis:
Former war pilot Jim Banning starts a helicopter delivery service in Metropolis. When his helicopters are used to commit crimes, police question Banning. Superman vouches for the pilot’s honesty, so the police delay arresting Banning.
Lois wants to investigate the crimes. Superman senses that it will be dangerous, so he tries sending her on a wild goose chase claiming he is going out of town. Lois doesn’t follow and stays behind to solve the robberies. With Superman supposedly out of town, she makes Clark impersonate his other self. Clark must then stop the crooks without Lois realizing he is the real Superman.
Clark’s efforts succeed when he and Lois uncover the real crooks are led by Martin Grew, Banning’s rival. Grew has painted his own helicopters to resemble Banning’s and discredit his rival. Superman uses paint remover to expose the real owner of the criminal helicopters. Then Banning and his pilots help to round up Grew’s gang.
