Synopsis:
Joe Swift the obituary reporter at the Daily Planet receives a story concerning the death of George Ryan, owner of a meat packing plant. When the story runs in the newspaper, Ryan turns out to be alive and threatens to sue. Following Ryan's denial, Superman finds the man dead just as the story described.

When Swift receives another report of death, this time Sam Owens the baker, Superman arrives in time to save the man. Swift is forced to retire since his stories have been proved false.

Lois receives another reported death and investigates. She finds the man is still alive. Superman also follows up and discovers that Owens is behind the plot. He intended to ruin his former business partners and killed Ryan. Superman gets a confession and stops the final murder.
