Synopsis:
Clark Kent's classmate Billy Benton prepares his car to enter in the soapbox derby. During a trial run, Billy is nearly run over by a truck, but Superboy rescues him. The car is demolished in the crash, but Superboy builds Billy a new one.

Billy enters the race, while Clark remains at school for missing a history assignment. When Billy crashes in the race, Clark leaves the classroom to perform another rescue. He repairs the car, puts Billy back in the race, then watches Billy win. Clark is punished for leaving the classroom, but Billy is safe and admired for his victory.
