Joie Mayhew is a blind boy who makes toys. His toy designs draw the attention of two con men Cawley and Gooding. The men stage a toy contest, offering a five thousand dollar prize to the winner. Joie and many other children enter their toy designs in the contest. The crooks then take the toys with plans to get the patents for themselves. Superboy stops them and forces them to award the prize promised to Joie.
With his prize money, Joie is able to afford eye surgery to cure his blindness. Superboy assists in the operation. With his sight restored, Joie opens his own toy company.
