Synopsis:
When forest ranger Paul Blakeston is transferred to a nearby forest area, his reputation as a jinx proceeds him. Wherever Blakeston goes, trouble follows. Cyrus Maxon, a lumber company owner, decides to use Blakeston's reputation to take out his rivals. He sets fire to their lumber and blames the fires on Blakeston.

Superboy helps extinguish the fires. He then works to disprove the jinx theory. Superboy realizes that Maxon is responsible for setting the fires and tricks him into a confession. Blakeston's reputation as a jinx is finally put behind him and his role as a forest ranger is secure.
