Synopsis:
Clark Kent and Lana Lang become teenage reporters for the Smallville Gazette. Superboy finds a bridge that has been built with defective materials. Lana checks out the Smith Construction Company who was responsible for building the bridge. She learns of other recent projects built by the company and follows up on them.

Lana endangers herself and others trying to prove that the other projects are also defective. Superboy chases Lana and prevents the potential destruction. Defective materials are found on each project, so Lana takes her story to the newspaper. Superboy however, proves that a rival company planted the poor materials.

After exposing the real crooks, Superboy returns to the newspaper to stop Lana's story. The editor of the newspaper scolds Lana and gives her a column on beauty advice rather than important work.
