Synopsis:
Young Steve Sender admires Aquaman and trains himself to become an excellent swimmer and diver. Steve approaches Aquaman, offering to help the Sea King in his adventures. Aquaman explains that an ordinary human could not possess the abilities to help him. Steve tries anyway and actually rescues Aquaman from peril.

Aquaman decides to give Steve a serious of tests to determine his worthiness. Steve is required to remain underwater throughout all tests. If he succeeds, Aquaman will recommend a surgery that will allow him to remain underwater permanently. However, Steve fails the difficult tests, just as Aquaman suspected. Aquaman then arranges for Steve to get a job as a lifeguard.
