Synopsis:
Superman stops using his powers around Metropolis. When crooks get word of this, they committ a robbery. Superman tracks them down and stops them without using his powers. He fears using them because a small piece of the sunken city of Atlantis has given off radiation which has increased Superman’s abilities a thousandfold.
Another man, Bart Wellins is exposed to the radiation as well, granting him powers of his own. Superman is forced to use his own powers to stop the man, but he can’t control them and becomes a menace. Finally he uses Kryptonite on himself to weaken him enough to use his increased powers effectively. The Kryptonite also defeats Wellins.
The effects of the radiation soon wear off, and Superman permanently sinks the island to avoid its radiation forever.
