Synopsis:
An earthquake causes a landslide which blocks the trail through Painted Canyon. Matt Savage surveys the terrain and meets Mary Beth Hale, the owner of a small ranch. She tells Matt that a rival rancher, Jed Crogan, has hired a gunslinger, Arizona Bill Pinto, to kill her brother.
Lute goes into town to face the Gunslinger. Crogan has another man try to kill Lute, but Matt was expecting trouble and saves his point man. However, they have no proof that Crogan is responsible. Matt's crew then stage a fake revolt in order to force Crogan to strike at them. Matt catches the would-be assassin and forces Crogan to surrender. Mary Beth then offers to let Matt use her land to pass the blocked canyon.
