Comments:
Superboy discovers White Kryptonite which is deadly to all plant life in this story.
Synopsis:
Superboy is accidentally brought to the 50th century in an experiment by Lana Lang’s descendant, Professor Thadee Lang. In this time period, people believe that Superboy was a myth and since no records from that time period survived, no proof exists otherwise. Professor Lang and his daughter Lita are the only ones who believe Superboy was real. The professor is injured however and can not prove that Superboy was pulled from the past.
The authorities plan to deport Superboy, believing him a stowaway on an alien ship. Superboy tries to prove his existance by demonstrating his powers, but each power can be duplicated by 50th century inventions.
An alien ship crashes which releases a spore-like vegetation which grows rapidly. The 50th century technology is helpless against it. Superboy makes a discovery in a museum that may help. He uses a white mineral to destroy the alien plant. The mineral is White Kryptonite, something Superboy has never seen before. It has the property to destroy all plant life nearby. The existance of Kryptonite proves that Krypton existed, and the people realize that Superboy is real. He then returns to his own time.
