Synopsis:
Inventor Hector Rye seeks to make a name for himself by upstaging the Blackhawks and making rescues using his new inventions. Unfortunately while his inventions work to make the initial rescue, they cause danger of their own. Each time the Blackhawks are then forced to stop the machines and make the rescue themselves.

On his third attempt to be a hero, Hector nearly causes a ship to crash into an iceberg. Fortunately, his machine malfunctions and accidentally saves the ship. After the mishap, Hector promises the Blackhawks that he will leave the rescue jobs to the experts.
