Synopsis:
Newly crowned Queen Mera becomes lonely while Aquaman is on patrol. She is contacted by Professor Kreon from her home dimension, who informs her that the dimensional portal has been partially repaired and one-way travel to Earth is possible. Mera summons some friends from her homeworld including a man named Nikkor.

Nikkor plans to overthrow the Atlanteans. He drugs Mera and sells the Atlanteans into slavery to a aquatic show promoter T.T. Taggert. Aquaman is also captured by Taggert and forced to perform in the promoters shows. He unwillingly complies, but works on an escape plan for the Atlanteans. He engineers their successful escape, but he is captured in the process. Taggert places him inside a glass bell without water in an attempt to extort the return of the escaped prisoners.

While Aquaman is trapped, Aqualad and the Atlanteans retake Atlantis from Nikkor. Nikkor and Mera are banished to the dungeon depths from which no one has ever escaped. Aquaman gains his freedom from Taggert by faking his own death. He returns to Atlantis, but is too late to prevent Mera's dungeon exile.

Aquaman follows his bride into the depths. He learns that Mera had not betrayed the Atlanteans because she was drugged. They cannot escape from the depths, until Kreon contacts Mera again, telling her that the dimensional portal has been repaired. Aquaman is threatened by an undersea beast. Mera refuses to leave him behind. Nikkor sacrifices his own life to free Aquaman and allow both the Sea King and Mera to escape the depths into Mera's home dimension.

Aquaman and Mera then return to Atlantis. Mera is cleared of wrongdoing, but vows to accompany Aquaman on future patrols to prevent her loneliness.
