Part II:"Bats in Batman's Belfry"

Synopsis:
Superman and Batman pursue a thief who has stolen a recently unearthed medallion which can bestow a curse. Superman catches the thief, then witnesses Batman acting as a madman. Believing that Batman is cursed, he removes the Caped Crusader's costume which restores Batman's sanity.

Batman doesn't believe he is a madman, so Superman must keep watch to prevent Batman from wearing his costume. When Batman does put on the costume again, he goes crazy. Superman catches him and renders his friend unconscious.

Superman then has a compulsion to visit his Fortress and enter the Kryptonite vault. Robin is waiting inside and has coated the Kryptonite with lead paint. Batman then arrives and explains that Superman was the one who was cursed. If Superman was alone, he would try to kill himself, so Batman acted crazy in order to keep Superman nearby. Once a 48-hour period has passed, the curse is lifted, and Superman's suicidal compulsion is ended.
