Synopsis:
While charging his power ring, Green Lantern is summoned to Korugar by the Guardians. While in route to Korugar, the Guardians inform him that the Green Lantern from Korugar, Katma Tui, is going to resign from the Corps. The Guardians want Hal to talk her out of the decision to leave.

When Hal arrives on Korugar, he contacts Tui and learns that she is female. Katma Tui explains how she was selected as a Green Lantern when Sinestro turned traitor. Her record as a Green Lantern has been exemplary. However, she has fallen in love with Imi Kann and believes her devotion to him will prevent her from carrying out her duties.

Unable to convince Tui to change her mind, GL questions Imi Kann. Imi is also in love and claims to want Tui to make her own decision. Katma Tui arrives at the location where Hal is questioning Imi, and she is upset that Hal has gone behind her back.

Suddenly, a giant amoeba attacks. The amoeba grabs both Hal and Imi. Tui first trys to help Hal, but Hal tells her to help Imi. She is able to free her lover and defeat the monster. Hal then proves to her that her loyalty to the Corps is stronger than her love for Imi Kann. She decides to remain a Green Lantern. On the way back to Earth, Hal explains to the Guardians that he created the amoeba to test Tui. The Guardians are pleased with Hal and his methods.
