Although Kurrgo is left behind on Planet X, he does not perish. As revealed in Marvel Feature #11, Kurrgo and his robot escape the planet before it is destroyed.
Synopsis:
On the distant Planet X, Kurrgo, the leader of the planet dispatches a ship to Earth to retrieve the Fantastic Four. The team is attending a government dinner in their honor. When the alien ship arrives, its robot pilot uses a hostility ray to turn the dinner guests against the heroes. The Fantastic Four is forced to board the alien ship to escape.
The team is taken back to Planet X where Kurrgo explains that a giant asteroid is about to collide with his planet which will destroy all life. Reed uses Kurrgo's laboratory to invent a reducing gas which shrinks the population to tiny size. This allows them all to fit into a single space ship and escape the planet's doom. Kurrgo clutches a vial of enlarging gas which will later return him to normal size. However, the canister slows him down and prevents him from reaching the ship before it takes off. The Fantastic Four are barely able to escape the planet alive in another ship.
