Synopsis:
Following the Battle of Midway, Clark Kent and Lois Lane visit the island to report the story for their newspaper. When a Japanese fighter is spotted, Superman goes into action to stop it. Only after thwarting the attack and capturing an enemy submarine commander does Superman learn that the attack was a diversion to allow another Superman to slip passed the U.S. Navy to reach the west coast. Admiral Nimitz then directs Superman to Washington to meet with Secretary of War Henry Stimson.

At the same time in Washington, Wonder Woman stops a group of suicide bombers from killing an M.I.T. professor under FBI protection. She then saves the life of Albert Einstein before returning to her office at military intelligence. Inquiries into the attacks are met with denials that they ever took place, so Diana Prince looks into the file of the FBI agent she met. The file links him to the Manhattan Project.

Meanwhile, the Japanese submarine has arrived. It delivers Sumo, the Samurai, a super powered agent to a meeting with Baron Blitzkrieg. Sumo uses his mental powers to question a captured scientist and learn the location of an experimental reactor which has been divided into two parts. Blitzkrieg and Sumo split upon to steal the reactor components.

Wonder Woman continues her investigation of the Manhattan Project. She learns that the Americans are attempting to harness atomic energy. Outraged, Wonder Woman consults with her mother on Paradise Island before heading to a university in Chicago where she intends to destroy the atomic research being conducted.

Superman learns about Wonder Woman's attack on the university and goes there to confront her. Although the two heroes are friends, they disagree on how to handle the situation. To resolve the dispute, they agree to fight one another on the moon rather than continue to battle in the streets where they could potential hurt bystanders.

While Superman and Wonder Woman fight on the moon, Blitzkrieg and Sumo succeed in the theft of the reactor components. However, Sumo double-crosses Blitzkrieg and takes his half back to Japan. The U.S. military contact the heroes and summon them home to help recover the reactor. Wonder Woman follows Sumo to Japan, while Superman tracks Blitzkrieg to Louisiana.

Both heroes battle the Axis villains and win their fights. Superman then carries Blitzkrieg and the reactor to meet Wonder Woman. However, Blitzkrieg faked his own defeat so he could get near the other reactor component. He unites the pieces, before Sumo attacks him. Superman uses his X-ray vision to examine the reactor, which only succeeds in turning it into an atomic bomb. The Man of Steel and Wonder Woman barely escape the island before the bomb explodes. Sumo and Blitzkrieg, still locked in combat with one another remain behind as the first ever atomic bomb detonates.

Later, Superman and Wonder Woman meet with President Roosevelt. He offers them assurances that as long as he is president, atomic weapons will not be used.
