Synopsis:
A student, Jim Marsh, wins a scholarship. When Clark Kent goes to interview the student, Jim leaves suddenly in a suspicious manner. Clark follows him into the car of Sparkle Smith, a gangster. Trailing the car as Superboy, he learns that Smith is blackmailing the Marshs into helping him.

Disguised as Superboy, Jim is forced to fool people into handing over money to a phony charity. Superboy replaces Jim, and using his powers thwarts Smith's scheme. Then he makes a fool of Smith, making his accusations against Jim’s father seem bogus. The Boy of Steel then hands the crooks over to the police.
