Synopsis:
Jimmy Olsen receives a tip that a group of convicts including Mike Mosse are planning an escape during a prison transfer. Jimmy boards the train containing the prisoners so he can contact Superman in case of trouble. When the escape occurs however, Superman does not respond to Jimmy’s signal, and the boy reporter is captured by the crooks.

Jimmy is forced to accompany the crooks as they flee police. Surprisingly, Jimmy avoids being killed several times, until he and another convict, Joe the Knife, are thrown into quicksand and left for dead. Joe turns out to be Superman in disguise. He allowed the prisoners to escape in order to be led to Mosse’s boss. Superman frees Jimmy and rounds up all the crooks including their leader.
