Synopsis:
A freighter has found a block of ice containing an armor-clad body. Superman frees the man, who claims to be the Black Knight. He was trapped in the ice by Merlin. While grateful to Superman for freeing him, the Black Knight begins to use his sword, which possesses mystic properties, to committ robbery. Superman tries to stop the knight, but is injured by the sword. He is taken to the hospital, but his reputation is ruined.

A recently released gang leader, "Bull" Mathews, requests to borrow the sword. He pays the knight for it’s use and apparently kills Superman with it. However, the knight was only a hoax. The sword was also fake. It was designed to get Mathews to use marked money from a previous heist. With the money as evidence, Mathews is sent to prison. The knight was really Perry White.
