Synopsis:
Lois begins a lecture series on journalism at Pacific University. During her stay on campus she becomes intrigued by icthyologist Trenton Thorne. Lois learns that Thorne has invented a device that allows humans to talk to fish. Crooks steal the device and use it to steal a nuclear sub. Lois escapes from the crooks and with Superman's help stops the crooks.

After the crisis is over, Lois learns that Thorne is an Atlantean merman. When he returns home with his sweetheart Ina Lemaris, Lori's sister, Lois is heartbroken.
