Synopsis:
Lois takes Perry White's place as editor of the Daily Planet for a day as part of an annual Ladies' Day event. Lois assigns Perry and Jimmy Olsen the mundane task of counting nickels for a charity drive. She also uses her position to send Clark Kent on assignments that might give away his Superman identity. Clark outwits her, so Lois takes the next assignment herself.

Lois pursues escaped convict Knuckles Novik. She knows that Knuckles has vowed vengeance on Jimmy, so she stakes out his apartment. When Knuckles shows up, Lois signals Superman with Jimmy's signal watch. Clark Kent shows up instead to stop Knuckles. Lois thinks she has finally proved that Clark is Superman, until Clark explains he took a dose of Jimmy's super-serum which gives him super powers for an hour.

Lois is outwitted again later when Jimmy and Perry discover rare coins among the donations, landing them a big story.
