Synopsis:
John Kweli has returned home to Africa after pursuing a career in science. The Phantom Stranger rescues him from a train crash, then reunites him with his girlfriend Ororo. Kweli learns that his father, a village chief, has recently died. He attempts to take up leadership, but his people reject him. When a conflict over oil threatens the village, Kweli constructs a robot god named Chuma to help in the defense. The robot falls in love with Ororo and betrays Kweli. Both are killed, but the village is saved.
