This story continues in the first story of Action Comics #377.

Synopsis:
The Anti-Superman Gang offers a million dollar reward to anyone that can devise a method of killing Superman. Several criminal scientists bring their inventions to the gang and use them against the Man of Steel. One of them tries to teleport a bullet into Superman's brain, another uses an ultra-sonic weapon to disrupt Superman's hearing, and another tries to crush the Man of Steel by shrinking his indestructible costume. All these inventions fail.

"Giant Killer" Jones then comes up with a new plan. He creates a ring of Kryptonite dust around the Earth. Superman builds a lead suit so that he can enter the dust cloud to save a space capsule. Jones then uses a weapon that turns the lead suit into glass. Superman is then exposed to the Kryptonite dust cloud.
