Synopsis:
The President asks Superman to refrain from using his powers to travel through time for fear it would disrupt a critical time-space experiment being conducting. Superman agrees, then he receives a summons from the future requesting his help. Instead of using his own power, Superman uses a damaged time bubble left behind by the Legion of Super-Heroes. The time bubble successfully takes him 100,000 years into the future, but it causes him to rapidly age.

Superman meets the men who summoned him. They have been unable to solve a problem in which currency is disappearing from a time-locked vault. Three men who were left in the vault have been found in comas when it was opened. Superman spends the night in the vault. He discovers an energy creature has been consuming the currency and put the other men into comas. He devises a way to defeat the creature, then prepares to return home. However, his path through time is blocked by the Time Trapper.

Unable to go back in time, Superman visits the future Earth. He is briefly mistaken for a member of the Superman Gang, criminals who have taken to wearing copies of his costume. After the real gang is caught, a group of heroes expose Superman to a gas which briefly knocks him out. When he regains consciousness, doctors explain that the gas cured him of his weaknesses. He is no longer vulnerable to Kryptonite or magic. Even the deadly Virus-X has no effect on the Man of Steel. However, he remains aged and trapped in the future where all of the people he knew are long deceased.
