Synopsis:
As current leader of the Legion, Karate Kid is presented with a warp transport machine capable of allowing people to cross the galaxy instantly. Suddenly, the presentation is interrupted by Wayland Brannan, an agent of Earth's Bureau of Revenue and Taxation. Brannan explains that the Legion is in violation of tax laws now that their organization has exceeded 25 members. He orders them to drop a member within 24 hours or the team will have to pay back taxes.
Several members of the team offer immediate resignations including Timber Wolf, Chemical King, Bouncing Boy, and Duo Damsel. Karate Kid refuses them and instead a secret ballot is held. Before the winner (or loser) can be selected, all the ballots are mysteriously burned. Brainiac 5 then attempts to use the computer to pick the member who will be eliminated. It picks him, but once again his resignation is refused. When Supergirl volunteers, the Legion of Super-Pets arrive and convince her to stay. Eventually Superboy nominates himself. He was responsible for sabotaging the other selections. The Boy of Steel then leaves the 30th Century. The Legion builds a statue in his honor.
