Synopsis:
Superman decides to try out for the Metropolis Majestics baseball team. During the try-out the coach asks if his nephew can pitch to Superman. The Man of Steel agrees, and the little league pitcher strikes him out. Superman takes the ball and throws it into space. He then leaves the field.

Next Superman tries out for a soccer team, a boxer, a tennis player, a basketball team, and a football team. He excels at each sport, but doesn't join the teams. Instead he throws, punches, and kicks more sports equipment into space.

Superman then checks on an alien space probe. He can not approach the probe because it will explode. However, the sports equipment has been lodged on the air intakes. Suddenly, the probe returns to Slurran, the world which sent it. The air from the intakes is analyzed by the aliens and determined to be dangerous. Therefore the alien plan for conquest is called off.

Superman had discovered the probe and filled the sports equipment with mutation gas. He tricked the aliens into thinking Earth's air was dangerous. He let the kid strike him out because the ball being thrown had a leak. If Superman hit it, the mutation gas could have escaped and endangered Earth.
