Synopsis:
Prior to the testing of a new nuclear bomb, the members of the Suicide Squad visit the lab of Professor Duane. A giant moth attacks their plane, but Col. Flag manages to land safely. When they reach the lab, the team discovers that the Professor is missing. The lab itself has been damaged by lightning.

The team speculates that the lightning caused one of the professor's formulas to cause the moth to grow. This "Formula X" also changes a caterpillar into a giant. After fighting it off, the Suicide Squad begins the search for Professor Duane.

Suspecting that the professor may have been kidnapped by enemy agents near Ghost Lake, the team goes undercover. A giant monster rises from the lake and captures Karin. The creature also takes the nuclear bomb that is being tested. The rest of the team follows the creature, hoping to find a way to defeat it without harming Karin.

When the creature nears a populated area, Rick orders to creature to be knocked out regardless of Karin's safety. She survives, and Rick manages to disarm the first stage of the bomb. The creature is then towed out to sea, where the second stage of the bomb kills it. With no sign of Professor Duane, the team speculates that he might have been transformed into the creature by Formula X.
