Synopsis:
Grax, an alien with 20th level intellect attacks Brainiac and steals his force field projector. Grax then travels to Earth and places a bomb on Superman's belt. Superman cannot remove or disarm the bomb, which will destroy Earth in 24 hours. Superman tries to leave the planet, but Grax uses the force field to surround Earth, keeping Superman inside.

Superman uses the time remaining to find a way to remove the bomb. Unfortunately, he fails. With little time remaining, Brainiac contacts Superman and tells him a way to defeat Grax. He constructs a giant magnet to pull Grax's ship near the force field. When the bomb goes off Grax will be destroyed too. To save himself, Grax opens the force field and allows Superman to leave Earth.

The bomb goes off, destroying Grax's ship. Superman is far enough away from Earth to save the planet. Grax himself is thrown into an phantom dimension similar to the Phantom Zone. Superman thanks Brainiac for his help and returns his force field projector.
