Synopsis:
Swamp Thing has been captured by a side-show promoter and put on display in Gotham City. Batman fails to convince the promoter to release him. Meanwhile, a government agency learns about Swamp Thing's capture and seeks to take him themselves. Before they can strike, a shipment of bio-spores is accidentally released causing rapid-growth vines to take over the city.
Batman rescues Swamp Thing from the government agents. Together they battle the deadly vines. A scientist tells Batman to target the king root. The government unleashes its own solution, a defoliant. The toxin doesn't affect the vine, but does hurt Swamp Thing. Before he succumbs, Swamp Thing uproots the king root to end the menace.
Batman takes Swamp Thing's ravaged body back to the swamp where he is rejuvenated and can leave peacefully.
