Synopsis:
Clark and Lois investigate reports of giant animals near Cornithville which have panicked the town. They find the reporter, Grant Fellows, who filed the story and have him bring them to the laboratory of Dr. Emil Carlstrom. Carlstrom is doing animal experiments, but nothing that would create giant creatures.

Lois and Clark go in search of the animals, only to encounter an escaped ape. Superman stops the ape and later finds Dr. Carlstrom tied up. They are almost eliminated in a cave-in, but Superman prevails. Finally, Fellows reveals that the giant animals were a hoax to scare Carlstrom into leaving, because the reporter had found a gold mine on the scientist’s property. Fellows tries to kill everyone, but Superman makes the scene, rescuing Lois, and capturing Fellows.
