Synopsis:
The citizens of Ranagar are commanded to surrender by an unknown foe. When they try to defend themselves, their army mysteriously disappears. When Adam Strange arrives on the Zeta Beam, he meets Alanna, but they both disappear as well.
Adam and Alanna are teleported to the planet Rhynthar where they are attacked by the native Dust Devils. Adam finds a way to defeat them, by turning them to glass. He then learns that a Ranagaran, Kaskor, is responsible for their disappearance.
Kaskor has perfected Zeta technology, allowing him to teleport people away, but not have them return. With the army and Alanna still trapped on Rhynthar, Adam is sent back to Earth by the original Zeta Beam.
When he returns to Rann, he uses a device to jam to Zeta wave, so Kaskor can not send him back to Rhynthar. Adam then uses the new Zeta Beam on Kaskor and himself, so that Kaskor is trapped as well. Not wanting to remain on Rhynthar, Kaskor reveals the secret of his weapon, allowing everyone to return to Rann. The perfected Zeta Beam is then destroyed, and Adam returns to Earth.
