Though, Major Disaster appears to die at the end of this story, he survives and encounters Green Lantern again in Green Lantern #57.
Carol Ferris and Iris West temporarily learn the secret identities of Green Lantern and Flash, but their memories are erased.
Synopsis:
Hal Jordan and Barry Allen are confused when mysteriously their girlfriends Carol and Iris learn their secret identities. The two couples meet for a double date in Pineaire City where the girls share their secrets with each other. Flash and GL are then needed elsewhere to handle an earthquake.
While protecting people and minimizing damage, GL and Flash spot a gang of crooks entering a bank. Somehow the disaster engulfing the area is not affecting them. Both heroes find their own powers unable to touch the crooks, then their powers fail altogether.
After he and Flash stop the crooks during another robbery without their powers, Green Lantern remembers that Pieface's Casebook contained the information about his secret and that of the Flash. The heroes bring the book to the FBI where they find the fingerprints of crook, Paul Booker. The heroes also discover that they now possess each other's power.
Flash and GL begin to track down Booker, when more disasters strike. They begin to see a connection between their reversed powers, the catastrophies, and Booker. Once the connection is made, the heroes are able to restore their powers. Then they stop the crooks. Finally the heroes find Booker, aka Major Disaster, but the crook is electrocuted by his own machine, which had been responsible for the switched powers and the disasters.
When the heroes return to Coast City, they find that citizens are experiencing amnesia due to meteors that fell in the area. GL uses his ring to restore their memories, but conveniently omits the knowledge of their secret identities from Carol and Iris.
