Synopsis:
Johnny Thunder chases a spy into the subway. Two children recognize him and follow. The spy jumps the subway turnstile. When Johnny tries the same maneuver, he is stopped by a guard. The children offer to pay Johnny's way through the turnstile, but by that time it is too late.

Johnny summons the Thunderbolt, and together with the children searches the subway station. Ermintrude is abducted by the spy, but Johnny uncovers a secret passage under the subway tunnel. Johnny finds and rescues the girl and prevents the spy from destroying a naval yard.
