A mysterious foe begins destroying all Kryptonian items and memorials on Earth. Superman, Supergirl, and Krypto are unable to track down their unknown opponent, who soon steals the bottle city of Kandor.
The thief is Rinol-Jag, the last survivor of an alien world under the influence of Amalak the space pirate. Amalak has convinced Rinol that his world was destroyed by a fragment of Krypton. He then brainwashed the young man into forming an obsessive hatred of all things Kryptonian.
Rinol next leads Supergirl into a trap and takes her prisoner. While Superman and Krypto search for Kara, Rinol captures them too. Amalak then reveals himself to Superman, who convinces Rinol that he was tricked. Rinol helps Superman escape and stop Amalak. Rinol and Superman then part ways as friends.
