Major Dabney, Mick Murdock, and Margo Cantrell assist Batman in this story. The trio is dubbed the Bat-Squad in the final panel.

Synopsis:
Bruce Wayne visits a movie set in London. During the production, the leading actress Vivien Tremaine is kidnapped by the Scarlet Strangler, the villain of the story. However, her kidnapping was not in the script, and the actor who was to play the Strangler is found murdered.

Batman investigates with the help of three members of the movie crew: Major Dabney, the technical advisor; Margo Cantrell, Vivien's stand-in; and Mick Murdock, a musician. Together they locate Vivien. The Strangler is killed, and Batman escapes from a bomb before the mystery is solved. The Strangler turns out to have been the son of the original Strangler upon which the film is based. The director Basil Coventry is the grandson of the original Strangler.

When the case is closed, Dabney, Mick, and Margo offer to assist Batman with future cases, taking the name the Bat-Squad.
